McDonald Psychology Services
Supporting children, adolescents, and families through compassionate, evidence-based psychological services. From comprehensive assessments to therapy and consultation, each service is individualized to provide clarity, practical strategies, and meaningful support. All services are offered virtually across Ontario, with collaboration across home, school, and healthcare settings when appropriate.
1
Social-Emotional (& ADHD) Assessments
A comprehensive virtual evaluation of your child's emotional, behavioural, and psychological functioning is completed across 5 stages. Assessments are individualized and may include clinical interviews, standardized questionnaires, review of relevant records (e.g., Ontario Student Record), and consultation with caregivers, educators, physicians, or other professionals. When clinically indicated, additional components such as a classroom observation may be recommended. You will receive a detailed report, including diagnostic clarification when appropriate, along with personalized recommendations to support your child at home, at school, and in everyday life. Note that ADHD assessments fall under this service.
2
Clinical Consultation & Care Planning
Sometimes families need guidance rather than a full assessment or ongoing therapy. This consultation service provides thoughtful recommendations to help clarify concerns, review existing reports or diagnoses, coordinate care between professionals, and develop a practical plan moving forward. Whether you are unsure about next steps or navigating a complex medical, developmental, or mental health journey, consultations are designed to provide clarity, direction, and confidence.
3
Pediatric Health Psychology Consultation
Supporting children and adolescents living with acute or chronic medical conditions and the emotional challenges that often accompany them. Services may include coping with a new diagnosis, pain management, treatment adherence, medical anxiety, adjustment to illness or hospitalization, procedural preparation, sleep concerns, and navigating the impact of health conditions on everyday life. Care is collaborative and recognizes the important connection between physical and emotional well-being.
4
Child & Adolescent Mental Health Therapy
Evidence-based virtual therapy for children and adolescents experiencing anxiety, depression, emotional regulation difficulties, stress, behavioural concerns, self-esteem challenges, grief, or adjustment to life changes. Therapy is individualized, collaborative, and grounded in approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and other evidence-informed interventions tailored to your child's unique strengths and goals.
5
Parent/Caregiver Consultation & Coaching
Parents know their children best. This service combines your expertise as the parent with psychological strategies to better understand your child's emotions and behaviour, strengthen family relationships, and build confidence in responding to everyday challenges. Sessions often focus on emotion coaching, behaviour support, parenting through anxiety or neurodiversity, school concerns, and fostering resilience. Many families find that just a few focused sessions provide practical tools they can continue using long after therapy ends.

Every story starts with a conversation.
Whether you're looking for guidance, considering an ADHD assessment, or wondering if therapy is the right fit, I'd be happy to connect through services and a Complimentary Intake.
